Bees and butterflies pollinate our food, and they’re struggling to survive. That’s why Baseline is proud to be the world’s first pollinator district and home to the new Butterfly Pavilion, a global leader in conservation efforts. Butterfly Pavilion creating buzz in Nepal and Tanzania
Turns out the best defense is a good bee fence, according to the Butterfly Pavilion. Their international program teaching farmers how to protect crops using a perimeter of honey bees as a non-violent and effective deterrent was recently featured on 9News. The method is proving to be an ingenious way to keep the peace with resident elephants (yes elephants) while also promoting healthier crops through pollination. As an added bonus, farmers can also package and sell the honey. The program, happening in Nepal and Tanzania so far, is a win, win, win, win … for elephants, farmers, honey enthusiasts and the environment. Watch the video

Pardon Our Dust: 2019-2020 Sheridan/Alcott Construction Update
Please bear with us while road improvements are being made at Baseline in Broomfield to improve transportation flow through our community . Roadway construction efforts are planned to impact both Sheridan Parkway and Alcott Way from June 2019 through February 2020 however Sheridan will remain open during this period. Alcott Way is projected to be fully closed for the months of June through September. Intermittent closures and one-way restrictions can be expected to continue on Alcott Way until it reopens, which is scheduled for November 16, 2019. Traffic signals to improve flow will be installed in February 2020. During this time, additional traffic control measures for the intersection of Preble Creek and Sheridan Parkway are planned to be employed to work during peak (drop off and pickup) traffic demands for Prospect Ridge Academy. As the last days of 2007 slipped away, Denver-based real estate firm McWhinney was closing on the purchase of 1,100 vacant acres at the intersection of I-25 and Colo. Highway 7 in Broomfield. The company outlined its vision for a mixed-use project of immense proportions: corporate headquarters, medical offices, retail, restaurants, hotels and homes would fill the land, purchased for $32.5 million, over the course of two to four decades.Read More
